Alright, Nobody Nation — 9/7/11 is the America’s Got Talent Top 10 finals reveal. Who will be the four to move on to the end?

Last night’s performers were: Landau Eugene Murphy, Jr., Anna Graceman, Silhouettes, Lys Agnes, Poplyfe, Team iLuminate, Miami All Stars, West Springfield Dance Team, Landon Swank, and Smage Bros. Riding Shows.

Who will go on?  Let’s find out right now!

(The usual disclosure: As you know, we are a site devoted to opinion, inspiration, civility, and tolerance.  So, why this weekly ritual with AGT?  Well, first, it’s our guilty pleasure [life can’t always be so serious], and second, it fits right into one of our pillars: inspiration.  America’s Got Talent features folks who are going for it in a very real sense.  They are living their dream, come what may [the big red “X”?].  Doesn’t matter who you are, what you look like, or where you come from.  On stage, you’re all equal under the lights.  That’s pretty great to me.)

Gotta love the intro shot of Mr. Smalls almost getting his face smashed by a Smage Bros. tire.  I hope they have a good health plan.

Welcome to the top ten reveal, folks.  There were some standout acts last night, but as we all know, nothing on AGT is a foregone conclusion.  There could be some surprises tonight.

Then again, maybe not.

Who are you rooting for?

Nick Cannon says last night was the highest voting toll of the season.  Good job, America!  And, of course, Piers, Sharon, and Howie were present and in good form.  Sharon expressed her relief that she doesn’t have to vote on any acts tonight.  As for Howie?  Well, he was busy telling America that Landon Swank’s fish was alright.

Elimination 1

Smage Bros. Riding Shows and Team iLuminate

Does anyone want to go up against Team iLuminate?  Probably not.  I think that’s like going up against Goliath, although David did come out of that with a modicum of success.  I guess we’ll have to see.  And the winner is?  Team iLuminate.  Oh, and the other winner here?  Some casino in Vegas that has a dark theater.  Howie said he thinks iLuminate could take it all the way.  There may be something to that.

See?  Even Goliath wins now and then.

Obligatory plug for NFL kickoff from Mr. Nick Cannon.

And now?  The Orville Lounge.  Let’s just wait this out….Now, on to:

Elimination 2

Miami All Stars and Lys Agnes

What do you think of this pairing?  Did you like the chance that Lys took?  How about the chance Miami All Stars took?  You have to give them both credit for getting this far.  In the end, neither act made it.  Miami All Stars were very gracious and I can tell you, any place they teach, I’d like to take.  Both acts were gracious in their departure.  I’m sure we’ll be hearing more from both these acts in coming years.

Maybe sooner!

Elimination 3

Poplyfe and Landon Swank

I have to say it — love Poplyfe.  Love ’em.  Landon Swank is great, too, but there is something about that singing group.  Great energy, great story…love it!  Cannon said this was an extremely close vote.  In the end, it was Poplyfe.  I can’t wait to see them perform again.

Is there a “next” level after The Jackson 5 and The Beatles?  We’ll see…

Nick took us on a backstage tour of AGT.  We got to see some scary socks and Piers’ candy jar.  Now, Nobody Nation, my life is complete.  And, a naked Howie Mandel?  Well, I think that’s why they invented to fuzz-out effect on TV.  Love ya, Howie!  (But not that much.)

On stage?  Il Divo — the crossover group.  Hear this now, NN — in my next life, I’m coming back as an Italian tenor and I’m forming one of these groups.  Of course, I need a few friends to get re-incarnated with me.  I hope they can sing.

I will celebrate my next life by going to my kitchen to get a leftover blueberry muffin.

Elimination 4

Silhouettes and West Springfield Dance Team

Well, there’s probably not much to write here.  Silhouettes, at this point, are almost unstoppable.  West Springfield is talented, but I’m not sure they can stop Silhouettes.  In the end, the act moving on is — Silhouettes.  I can’t even begin to imagine what they’re gonna dream up next.  This group, next to Team iLuminate, poses a difficult choice for best dance team.  Both are certainly unique beyond belief.

And talented, talented, talented….

Back in the green room, it was a somber Landau and Anna.  Let’s get to it.

Elimination 5

Anna Graceman and Landau Eugene Murphy, Jr.

I feel, somewhere in my soul, that these two are friends for life.  Don’t you get that feeling?  Anna Graceman is the next great folksy female artist and Landau is a classic, velvety crooner.  Love them both.  Both, I say!  But unfortunately, there’s only room for one more.  And that one more is…Landau Eugene Murphy, Jr.  One of my viewing partners is especially happy, as she cannot wait to get to Vegas to hear him.  Anna put the “grace” in Graceman, giving her best to her friend Landau.  And Landau?  Class, class, class — not celebrating too much at Anna’s expense.

  1. Im so happy for all of the finalists but i hope Landau wins not only for his talent but for his amazing heart. Go LANDAU

    • @TAMMY: I think there are a lot of people who agree with you. Last night, when he stayed calm during the result while Anna was on stage was really classy. You get the sense that this guy doesn’t just care about his own performances on the show, but everyone else’s as well. I think we need more stars like that.
