Welcome back Nobody Nation to the LIVE 8/31/11 America’s Got Talent second semifinal reveal blog at Nobody’s View.
Who will round out the AGT top 10 in the finals?
Let’s join Piers Morgan, Sharon Osbourne, Howie Mandel, and Nick Cannon to find out!

(The usual disclosure: As you know, we are a site devoted to opinion, inspiration, civility, and tolerance. So, why this weekly ritual with AGT? Well, first, it’s our guilty pleasure [life can’t always be so serious], and second, it fits right into one of our pillars: inspiration. America’s Got Talent features folks who are going for it in a very real sense. They are living their dream, come what may [the big red “X”?]. Doesn’t matter who you are, what you look like, or where you come from. On stage, you’re all equal under the lights. That’s pretty great to me.)
The opening recap let us re-live some moments from last night, including Anna Graceman’s big voice, and Gymkana’s big spill (that nearly caught a performer on fire). According to Cannon, last night’s show got the highest number of votes all season. That’s an interesting little factoid.
Piers stated out with, “I’m always in a good mood.”
Anyway, on to the first elimination.
Gymkana, Steven Retchless, Silhouettes
Here’s an interesting grouping (I say that a lot, don’t I?). Dontcha just love AGT? Sharon was apparently suffering under the weight of her own indecision — totally unable to call it. But in the end, America chose Silhouettes. Now, even though I don’t think last night was their best performance of their career of three on AGT, I am very much looking forward to their next act.
As I said a few blogs ago, I hope the parents of those Silhouettes kids are ready to move to Vegas. I wonder if any of the folks from Fighting Gravity are looking for roommates?
After he break? You guessed it…the Orville Lounge. Remember my post from yesterday? I think I’m going to lobby for the “Lasagna Burnt Noodle Ends” lounge. Think it’ll take off?
On stage now, David Guetta (with Nicki Minaj and Flo Rida) with Where Them Girls At.
Honestly, I don’t know where the girls are at currently, but I know where I’m at…going to get an apple.
So how about that vegetable/fruit juice that only tastes like fruit? It was in the last commercial package. I have to say, I had broccoli with dinner tonight and now an apple…after that duo, I’d have to say that sounds like a juice I could go for! (No offense, broccoli. I still love you! But broccoli juice? Nah.)
Landau Eugene Murphy Junior, Anna Graceman
Uh oh. I hope this is another of those — “You’re both going through!” moments. These acts are two of my favorites. I already lost Daniel Joseph Baker. Can’t afford to lose one of these two. Who is it? Both! Let me correct that — both, after an excruciating prank on the part of the producers. Good lord. Wait’ll I see those producers in the Burnt Noodle Lounge later. I’m really gonna give ’em a piece of my mind.
But no time for that now. It’s on to…
Professor Splash, Fatally Unique, Summerwind Skippers, Landon Swank.
Now this is a variety show all its own. There’s some talent in here. I personally really like the Summerwind Skippers and Landon Swank, especially Swank’s illusion from last night. He really is a great illusionist. However, the only act not about to disappear right now is Landon Swank. Piers brought him back and now he’s going on to the finals. Good story, right? We love ’em here at Nobody’s View.
Britain’s Got Talent’s own Susan Boyle is up now with You Have To Be There. Yet another Nobody’s View great story. Out of nowhere to…well…everywhere! Keep pushin’ folks, whatever your passion!
She certainly brought the audience to their feet. What a great voice.
Smage Bros. Riding Shows, Snap Boogie, The Kinetic King
I like all three of these acts (with, as you know, a special place in my heart for the guy who lays on the floor while flying Smage bikes come perilously close to leaving skid marks on his face). The act leaving right now is The Kinetic King. I’m glad Piers gave him a standing ovation…he deserves it, that’s for sure. This guy is a niche all to himself. So, it’s down to Snap Boogie and Smage Brothers.
I liked the Smage appeal that more comes form Wisconsin than cheese and beer. I used to live near there, and I can vouch for that…but then again, the beer and cheese is so good! Who will the judges pick?
We’ll find out next!
Unless, of course, you are the person who counts the votes. In that case, you already know. But thanks for reading anyway!
Okay, back to the final elimination — will it be Snap Boogie or the Smage Brothers? Sharon went with Snap — after an apparently difficult decision. Piers said that after last night, he found the Smages more entertaining. In the end, he went with the Smage Brothers. It all came down to Howie. His deciding vote was for the Smage Brothers.
The top ten? Landau Eugene Murphy, Jr., Anna Graceman, Silhouettes, Lys Agnes, Poplyfe, Team iLuminate, Miami All Stars, West Spingfield Dance Team, and Landon Swank, and Smage Bros. Riding Shows.
Who is your pick?
The finals start next week. Join us here at Nobody’s View for the LIVE blog (8pm in the West!)
