(The usual disclosure: As you know, we are a site devoted to opinion, inspiration, civility, and tolerance.  So, why this weekly ritual with AGT?  Well, first, it’s our guilty pleasure [life can’t always be so serious], and second, it fits right into one of our pillars: inspiration.  America’s Got Talent features folks who are going for it in a very real sense.  They are living their dream, come what may [the big red “X”?].  Doesn’t matter who you are, what you look like, or where you come from.  On stage, you’re all equal under the lights.  That’s pretty great to me.)

The opening montage features some of the highlights from last night, as well as some trouble spots.  Did you think Sandou Trio Russian Bar was really a suicide mission as Piers said?  Was Team iLuminate really that incredible?  (Yes!).

Nick Cannon came out in a jacket that eerily enough, matched the lights on the stage.  I wonder what Piers will say about that!

Oh, and by the way?  Prince Poppycock.  Love that.

Ha!  Piers asked if Cannon was auditioning for 101 Dalmatians.

Howie says there are more standout acts this year than ever before.

Elimination 1

Sandou Trio Russian Bar, Zuma Zuma, Matt Wilhelm, and Team iLuminate

This is hard for me.  I really love Zuma Zuma and Team iLuminate.  I disagree with Sharon and Howie — I really thought Zuma Zuma stepped it up!  As for Matt Wilhelm?  Well, I think we’ll be seeing a lot more of him.  America voted and the act moving on?  Team iLuminate.

Was there any doubt?  Not in the minds of my viewing group.  Sharon said they will “own” Vegas.  She’s absolutely right.  The question is, which casino will get them?

We’re back!  The Orville lounge is popping.  I wonder how much a popping lounge costs?  A few million a season?

Now it’s time for Demi Lovato.  I’m going to get some fruit.

Okay, I’m back.  Did you see that lava lamp?  How about those TVs that look like they could host a rousing game of Donkey Kong?

Here’s my dream, Nobody Nation — I want to someday have an act where fire wells up around me!  I understand that might not be until I get to hell, but still…I think it’d be fun.

Speaking of hell, I saw a commercial for a local lottery — just a reminder of all the times I haven’t won!

Anyway, back to the show.

Elimination 2

Poplyfe and Lys Agnes

Can I just say, again, how much I love Poplyfe?  I love Poplyfe.  There.  I said it again.  The closest result ever, according to Nick Cannon.  Howie couldn’t even look!  It’s both!

Elimination 3

Melissa Villasenor, Miami All Stars, Kevin Colis

What about those Miami All Stars, huh?  What an amazing show!  I’d love to see a Broadway show out of what they did last night.  The judges weren’t too thrilled with Kevin.  How do you think Villasenor did?

In the end, it was Miami All Stars.  It had to be.  Simply incredible.  Thanks again, Miami All Stars for reminding me how great swing can be.  Piers called them “brilliant” and I agree, as do my viewing partners.

Who’s taking that last spot?

After the break, it was time for a favorite — Prince Poppycock.  Love the costumes.  Love the sets.  Love the music selections.  Love that this guy is following his heart’s desire.  And ending an act by saying, “Look at me I’m flaming?”  Hehe…”He’s a “professional Poppycock!”

Back in the green room were three nervous acts — West Springfield Dance Team, Daniel Joseph Baker, and Beth Ann Robinson.  Great acts all.  Nervous acts all!

On stage?  New Boyz.  With a “z.”  Maybe I’ll rename the site Nobody’z View.  Whaddya think of that?

Elimination 4

Daniel Joseph Baker, Beth Ann Robinson, West Springfield Dance Team

This is a tough one.  Lots of talent on that stage right now, and all so unique.  Can I say I’m not partial to Katy’s Daniel Joseph Baker?   No, I can’t say that.  Love his act.  But still, this had to be a hard call for America.  The act leaving right now? Beth Ann Robinson.

Who will the judges put through?  Baker or West Springfield?

We’ll find out after the break.

Here it is — the judge’s choice.  So intense, that Howie drooled all over himself. Wow.  That’s pressure.  He went with West Springfield.  Piers also went with West Springfield.

I have to say that’s a little tough for me.  I take NOTHING away from West Springfield, but I (and many in my viewing group) have become quite attached to Baker’s act.

Hopefully we’ll see this bill — Poplyfe and Daniel Joseph Baker.

I’d pay to see that.
