(The usual disclosure: As you know, we are a site devoted to opinion, inspiration, civility, and tolerance.  So, why this weekly ritual with AGT?  Well, first, it’s our guilty pleasure [life can’t always be so serious], and second, it fits right into one of our pillars: inspiration.  America’s Got Talent features folks who are going for it in a very real sense.  They are living their dream, come what may [the big red “X”?].  Doesn’t matter who you are, what you look like, or where you come from.  On stage, you’re all equal under the lights.  That’s pretty great to me.)

Let’s get started and find out which four are moving on!

—————–

Ah, the obligatory “green room” shot.

Then, the announcement of Les Mis!  Yes!  Love it!

Nick checked in with Howie at the start and he called last night, “a night of redemption.”  I think that’s true.  What did America think?

Elimination One

Shevonne, Yellow Designs Stunt Team, West Springfield Dance Team

This one is a bit surprising.  I thought at least two of these acts would go through (or had a really good chance of going through!).  All three are Sharon’s picks, so, in essence, 75% of Sharon’s picks are standing side-by-side (that’s the extent of my math ability, folks!).  After it was all said and done, West Springfield Dance Team was moving through.  WOW!  I don’t normally sit here and say “WHAT?” aloud, but I did tonight — not because they don’t deserve it, but because after the judge’s comments last night, it didn’t seem probable.  Good job!  West Springfield Dance Team will be in the semis.

Hey, if the world can have sexy jumprope, then it can certainly have scary dance.

Back to the Orville lounge.  I wonder what would happen if I sponsored that lounge…would it be the nobody lounge?  That has a nice ring to it, right? Probably not.

From popcorn to Les Mis.  Ah yes.  One Day More was the selection — awesome. Very awesome.  “Another day, another destiny!”  The only problem?  This will be stuck in my head for days now.  “One day more” indeed.

“My place is here…I write with you!”

Okay, enough of that.

On to commercial.

We’re back.  Another elimination.

Elimination 2

Avery and the Calico Hearts, Charles Peachock, Those Funny Little People, The Kinetic King

This is truly an America’s Got Talent elimination — kid singers, a juggler, a…variety act, and…a variety act with sticks and trash cans.  Love it! Where else can you get all that?  Two of these acts were Piers picks.  Those Funny Little People certainly aren’t.  When it came to them, he said that if America chose TFLP, he would take a cab to the airport and fly to England forever.  Hehe….But he called The Kinetic King the “Rocky Balboa” of AGT.  I wonder if he’ll get a statue in his hometown?  America’s choice was The Kinetic King.  Oh, man.  I CANNOT wait to see what he does next.  How do you top trash cans?  This guy is just awesome and he did the fetal position of victory.  Oh, and by the way, Piers knelt before him.  Take THAT to the bank, king.

—————–

Wasting no time, it’s…

Elimination 3

Landon Swank and Seth Grabel

A magical showdown!  This one is tough to call.  One was a great trick and one had mini judges.  This could go either way.  In the end, it was Landon Swank.  Did you think Landon’s was the better illusion?

Coming up, two more acts disappear!

—————–

Time now for Colbie Caillat and “Brighter Than the Sun.”

Enjoy!  I’m going to fire up my Les Mis CD for a little bit.  I should be able to get through a few tracks before the next elimination!

Elimination 4

Summerwind Skippers, The Fiddleheads, and J Chris Newberg

Argh!  Why does it always come to this?  I like all of these acts.  My viewing partners also like these acts.  Apparently America likes them all, too.  But the one they didn’t like as much?  J Chris Newberg.  Wow.  I really thought this guy was going to sneak by after his Piers performance.  Too bad Last Comic Standing is gone, because I think he’d have a good chance.  That leaves The Fiddleheads and Summerwind Skippers.  Who is your choice?

—————–

After the break it was 4th and 5th place Summerwind Skippers and The Fiddleheads.  Piers said that he is a “big fan” of Summerwind.  He kept his same view of The Fiddleheads.  Then, Sharon hit him with an index card before he voted for the Skippers.  Howie voted for his choice, The Fiddleheads.  So, it was down to Sharon…and the Summerwind Skippers.
